DEPED JUBILANT ON ISSUANCE OF EO CREATING NEW POSITIONS FOR TEACHERS
THE DEPARTMENT of Education thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for signing an executive order creating new position titles for teachers.
“The Department of Education is jubilant about the timely issuance of Executive Order No. 174 titled Establishing the Expanded Career Progression System for Public School Teachers,” the agency said in a statement.
The EO creates five new position titles — Teacher IV, Teacher V, Teacher VI, Teacher VII, and Master Teacher V. It aims to promote the professional development and career advancement of public school teachers.
“DepEd, which is coincidentally celebrating its 124th founding anniversary today, is grateful to President Rodrigo Duterte for this monumental policy that will expand the classroom teaching career line and provide merit-based career progression opportunities,” it added.
The Education department said it will work with the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Budget and Management, and the Professional Regulation Commission in formulating the rules and regulations of the EO.
It vowed to develop programs to ensure that teachers are consistently motivated in providing quality education to Filipino learners.
