ANGARA: GOV’T MUST BE CAREFUL IN REOPENING SCHOOLS

/ 2 March 2021

SENATOR Juan Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara wants to see learners back in school but he said the government should exercise extreme caution on the resumption of face-to-face classes.

Angara said the risk of contracting Covid19 remains especially indoors.

He warned that a handful of infected students could easily spread the virus in their homes and communities.

“Kung i-roll out ng DepEd itong face-to-face classes ay maingat at limitado talaga, under very controlled conditions muna,” Angara said.

He said face-to-face classes would ease a lot of stress and pressure on both students and their parents.

However, Angara said that it would be best to conduct a pilot implementation of physical classes first to see how it will work.

These pilot areas should have very few or zero cases of Covid19 and strong health systems that would be able to handle possible outbreaks.
