500 NCH FRONTLINERS AND PATIENTS RECEIVE CONNECTIVITY, IN-KIND SUPPORT FROM GLOBE AND ITS PARTNERS

/ 23 July 2021

GLOBE expressed appreciation for hard working medical frontliners of the National Children’s Hospital, who continuously provide the best care for young Covid19 patients in these increasingly trying times.

To help tend to the needs of NCH’s medical frontliners, Globe has given them connectivity support with 50 MyFi devices and an entertainment package with four TV sets and Home Prepaid WiFi for the hospital’s pediatric cancer wards to bring joy to the children and their guardians.

Additionally, Century Pacific Food Inc., one of the leading branded food companies in the Philippines, shared 500 healthy and nutrient-rich food packages consisting of Century Tuna and Birch Tree Fortified milk for NCH staff and patients.

“It has been more than a year, yet our frontliners’ commitment and dedication to saving lives remain strong and steadfast. We stand by our frontliners who have been on the ground since day one,” said Greg Banzon, Century Pacific Food Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer.

Ayala Corporation is also donating Php 500,000 to the hospital on top of Globe’s fundraising efforts through GCash.

This is part of the #BrigadangAyala initiative led by Globe, which celebrates the medical community in three Metro Manila COVID-19 hospitals: NCH, Philippine General Hospital, and Tondo Medical Center.

“The hospital intends to distribute the devices (Globe MyFi) to different departments to further support frontliners on their connectivity needs. With the increased use of technology during the pandemic, the health sector has also pivoted its ways of working to integrate digital tools. These tools allow us to not only provide efficient and timely care for our patients but also afford us better and faster communication,” shares Dr. Moriel DJ. Creencia, NCH’s OIC – Medical Center Chief II.

NCH frontliners have been highly dependent on connectivity in carrying out their duties and keeping in touch with their loved ones.

Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP for Corporate Communications explains, “Connectivity has become an important aspect of our lives, especially in the emerging new normal we are currently navigating. Even the medical field had to adapt to digitalization quickly. During the pandemic, connectivity has helped our frontliners work more efficiently and communicate with their loved ones.”

NCH is the leading provider of pediatric care in the country. Recently, aside from providing care to children with critical illnesses, the hospital now also accommodates Covid19 patients up to 19 years old.
