3,992 PASS 2022 BAR EXAMS

THE SUPREME Court announced on Friday that 3,992 out of the 9,183 examinees passed the 2022 Bar examinations.

Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Bar chairman, said that the passing rate this year was 43.47 percent.

The passers obtained a total average grade of 75 percent.

The top five examinees came from the University of the Philippines.

They are Czar Matthew Gerard Torres Dayday (88.8083%), Erickson Cayabyab Mariñas (88.7668%), Christiane Claire Cregencia (87.9667%), Andrea Jasmine Ong Yu (87.77508%) and Kim Gia Grande Gatapia (87.4250%).

Out of the top 30, 11 are from the University of the Philippines, eight from the Ateneo De Manila University, three from the University of San Carlos and one each from San Beda College Alabang, Mariano Marcos State University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Saint Louis University, University of Santo Tomas, Arellano University, Manuel L. Quezon University, Angeles University and Ateneo de Davao University.

“The court commends the Bar candidates who successfully scaled what time and again has proven to be a Herculean battery of exams. Congratulations to the families and supportive communities of the bar candidates for through your love, this victory is certainly shared with you,” Caguioa said.

For those who did not make it to the list of passers, Caguioa noted that “allow this setback to be only temporary but your will to overcome the Bar examination and change.”

“The Bar examinations cannot begin to nor will it ever measure the weight of your convictions, the strength of your courage, the depths of your compassion, and the height of your dream,” he added.

The oath-taking of the new lawyers will be on May 2, 2023 at the Philippine International Convention Center.
