VICE President Leni Robredo will declare an educational crisis if she will be elected president.
“One of the first things that I will do if elected president is to declare an education crisis. Ang aking palagay kailangan natin itong gawin para ‘all hands on deck’ tayo. Malaki na ang problema natin and the pandemic has only exacerbated all our education problems,” Robredo said.
She shared that at the start of the pandemic in 2020, she suggested that schools in areas with low Covid19 transmission be kept open to prevent loss of education.
She added that to help cushion the impact of the pandemic on education, her office created learning hubs for students.
Robredo said that she aims to strengthen the partnership between the public and private education sectors to help address the problem of access to education and quality of education.
“[Addressing concerns] can only be done if the government talks to the private sector and they plan together. Hindi ‘yong gobyerno inaasikaso niya lang ‘yong public schools, dapat ‘yong mga programa ng private schools ay naka-integrate sa plano ng gobyerno para hindi siya tinitignan as competitor,” she said.
