USC STUDENT WINS BRONZE IN SINGAPORE INTERIOR DESIGN AWARDS
A STUDENT from the University of San Carlos in Cebu won a bronze award in the Singapore Interior Design Awards 2023.
Interior Design major Kateryll Shazneigh Maneja was recognized for her work “Calypso: Wine and Bar.”
The design incorporated mangrove trees as the subject of her conceptual inspiration with its sinewy roots through fluid, undulating motifs of Art Nouveau, located in the coastline where the users are engaged with the mystifying and relieving ambiance of the mangrove forest.
Maneja was the lone finalist from the Philippines in SIDA under the Youth Category.
The category featured completed academic projects by Singaporean students and international design institutions, providing future generations of designers with a platform to commemorate the start of their design careers.
Maneja was mentored by IDr. Hermie Ray Oplado.
Organized by the Society of Interior Designers in Singapore, the competition was held recently at the National Design Center in Singapore.
