THE University of the Philippines Visayas joined forces with the Iloilo Science and Technology University to implement the Student Internship Program.

A memorandum of agreement was signed by key officials of the two universities last month to formalize the partnership.

UPV said the collaboration is in line with the thrust of UP under President Angelo Jimenez’s mission “to serve the Philippines by sharing knowledge and resources with other state universities and colleges.”

Through the partnership, ISAT U student-interns will be exposed to actual scenarios and office situations under simulated employment conditions for a given period.

A student of ISAT U’s Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Electronics Technology program will be the first to benefit from the partnership.

“The student will undergo an internship with UPV’s Campus Maintenance and Development Office from August 2023 to May 2024,” UP Visayas said.

“Under their program’s curriculum, the students are taught the intricacies of Electronics Home and office appliances,” it added.
