UP VISAYAS TO HOLD F2F CLASSES IN MORE COURSES

/ 16 December 2021

THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Visayas will expand the coverage of face-to-face classes to include undergraduate students of Public Health and graduate students of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences degree programs.

Barring any Covid19, the university said that the resumption of physical classes will start in the second semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.

“We have standing applications with CHED (Commission on Higher Education) as regards these programs,” UPV said in an advisory.

It added that consultations and surveys have been conducted among the teachers and students to guide the administration to prepare for the “new normal” in education sector.

“More programs will follow as other colleges accomplish the mandated requirements and as CHED completes the inspections. We are also awaiting final guidelines from CHED and the UP System,” it said.

The Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid19 has allowed the resumption of physical classes in universities and colleges in areas below Alert Level 3.

Limited in-person classes are permitted provided that the indoor venue capacity is limited to 50 percent.

Only vaccinated students, teachers and support staff are allowed to participate in physical classes.
