ISU, RTU SEAL PARTNERSHIP TO BOOST RESEARCH, ACADEMIC COLLABORATION

/ 30 October 2026

ISABELA State University (ISU) and Rizal Technological University (RTU) have forged a partnership to strengthen collaboration in academic instruction, scientific research and development, faculty training, student development, and community engagement.

The two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday, establishing a framework for joint initiatives aimed at enhancing academic excellence, research productivity, and institutional development.

Under the agreement, ISU and RTU will explore faculty and staff exchanges, joint research projects, collaborative research grant applications, student internships, and work immersion programs.

The partnership also covers potential collaboration in curriculum development, technology transfer, resource and facility sharing, and the conduct of academic conferences, workshops, and training activities.

Other areas of cooperation include community outreach and sustainable development initiatives, subject to mutual agreement and applicable institutional requirements.

The MOU signing took place during RTU’s benchmarking visit to ISU, which focused on the latter’s practices in research and development, research grants, research management centers, and internationalization programs.

The visit also provided RTU representatives with an opportunity to learn about ISU’s institutional strategies for improving research productivity, strengthening research support systems, and expanding international partnerships.

Through the partnership, both universities aim to explore opportunities for knowledge exchange, strengthen research capabilities, and develop initiatives that benefit their academic communities and the broader public.
