The state university placed no. 937 in the world, has an impact rank of 952, openness rank of 1915, and excellence rank of 1135.
De La Salle University is at second with 1581, followed by Ateneo de Manila University with 2062.
Other schools included in the Top 10 are University of Santo Tomas (2613), University of San Carlos (3349), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (3406), and Mapua Institute of Technology (3522).
Completing the list are Visayas State University (4113), Mindanao State University Marawi City (4353), and Central Mindanao University (4353).
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, the largest public research body in Spain.
According to its official website, the ranking uses both webometric (all missions) and bibliometric (research mission) indicators.
The primary objective of the Ranking Web is to promote Open Access to the knowledge generated by the university.
The best strategy to improve ranking is to increase quantity and quality of web contents.
The Ranking Web started in 2004 with the aim of offering full coverage of Higher Education Institutions whatever the country or discipline involve.
Currently, it has ranked 31,000 HEIs from more than 200 countries.
