STUDENT GROUP APPEALS FOR UP DILIMAN ADMIN TO EXTEND ENROLLMENT FOR MIDYEAR TERM
A STUDENT group at University of the Philippines Diliman requested school officials to extend the registration and payment for midyear term 2020-21.
In a letter to UPD Chancellor Fidel Nemenzo, the University Student Council demanded that registration deadline should be moved from July 2 to July 5 in order to ease the registration concerns of learners.
“This will give more time for regular students (including residency students) and non-regular students (cross-registrants, special students, and non-degree students), to accomplish their registration since enrollment processes have transitioned to online,” USC said.
“College offices in-charge of registration should also be given more to assess, tag, and entertain other students’ request, especially with their limited workforce,” it added.
USC said changes in payment methods would also delay the students from enrolling, especially those without access to online banking.
“Hence, payments for Midyear Term 2020-2021 transactions (tuition, miscellaneous, and the like), should be allowed until July 23. We hope for your kindest consideration of these request,” USC said.
