/ 7 December 2021

AFTER two years of studying at home, some students of the Renato R. Lopez Elementary School in Mandaluyong City returned to school on Monday.

The school is among the 28 schools in the National Capital Region approved by the Department of Education and the Department of Health to implement limited physical classes starting December 6, 2021.

Assistant Secretary for National Academy of Sports and Field Operations Malcolm Garma, SDO Mandaluyong Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Romela Cruz, Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Alyn Mendoza and School Governance and Operations Division Chief Emma Arrubio, as well as other officials conducted an ocular inspection of the school on Monday.

School Head Elizabeth Catibog said the school is well prepared for the rollout of the pilot run as it conducted orientation for teachers, learners and parents prior to Monday’s reopening.

Parents of the students who attended the limited classes also submitted written consent forms.

Catibog said that they ensured that all teachers were vaccinated against Covid19.

Even the parents of the students were fully vaccinated, records from the Local Government of Mandaluyong City showed.

Dina D. Magleo, a mother of three children in Grades one, three, and four, welcomed her kids’ return to school because she said teachers can pay more attention to their students.
