PUP RECEIVES CHED-ICONS AWARD
THE Polytechnic University of the Philippines was recently honored with the Commission on Higher Education Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability Award.
This recognition highlights PUP’s outstanding performance in globally acknowledged rankings, including the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, and the World University Rankings for Innovation.
PUP President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi accepted the award on behalf of the University, with the recognition presented by CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III and CHED-International Affairs Services.
PUP achieved a milestone with its debut in the 2024 THE Impact Rankings, securing the 1501st spot globally. It also strengthened its presence in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, ranking 541–560 in Asia and 92nd in Southeast Asia.
The University also demonstrated its prowess in innovation, earning the 271st spot among 1072 universities in the 2024 WURI, further solidifying its global reputation.
The ICONS Awards 2024 celebrates institutions for their exceptional contributions to academic and social development, particularly in leadership and the arts.
