PUP OPEN U STUDENT WINS IN UNESCO COMPETITION
A STUDENT from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Open University won in the 1st Asia Cultural Heritage Conservation Proposal Competition sponsored by UNESCO.
Athashi Shane Sor, a second-year BS Tourism Management student, was recognized for her video titled “Binondo Manila.”
Her entry was among the chosen videos in the Discovering Heritage competition.
Sun Yat-sen University through the Asia Cultural Heritage Conservation Fund awarded Sor’s video.
PUP said that the competition seeks entries illustrating how local and traditional knowledge and experience contributed to conserving and utilizing local cultural heritage in Asia in sustainable and positive ways.
The OUS Tourism Management community commended Sor for her achievement.
“It is with great pride and honor to share to all of you another winning moment of PUP Open University System Department of Tourism Management with our 2nd Year BSTM student, Ms. Athashi Sor,” it said.
