PUP-COC MARKS 19TH FOUNDING YEAR VIRTUALLY
THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines – College of Communication will mark its 19th founding anniversary virtually due to the ban on face-to-face interactions and physicals classes amid the Covid19 pandemic.
With the theme “Basta COCian, hindi ka i1wan9!”, the college and its organizations will be holding online events and charity drives from August 17 to 28 to help its students cope with the flexible learning scheme.
To kickstart the celebration, The Communicator, the official student publication of the college, held an online webinar titled “Dakomversations: Debunking Neutrality in Journalism” in which they invited members of the media to discuss the ‘myth’ of neutrality and objectivity in journalism.
“Sa gitna ng laban kontra pandemya, ibayong pagsasanib-puwersa ang kailangan upang masuportahan ang bawat mag-aaral. Ito ay laban hindi lamang ng isa, kundi ng lahat. Samahan natin ang ating kapwa iskolar ng bayan hanggang sa sila ay makasabay sa bagong sistema,” The Communicator said on its Facebook greeting.
To further spread the word, the college launched a display picture frame campaign on Facebook.
2019’s theme was “COC at 18: The baby is now a bae,” in which the college held a three-day fun-filled event in July of the same year.
Classes in PUP will start on September 14 using the Flexible Technology-Enhanced Learning scheme.
