MARIANO MARCOS STATE U PROFESSOR AWARDED OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
A PROFESSOR and researcher of the Mariano Marcos State University was named Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the field of Physical Therapy by the Professional Regulation Commission for 2022.
Dr. Cheryll Didi Nellie N. Obra will receive the highest award bestowed by the PRC on a professional.
The Commission said that a recipient of the prestigious award “should have demonstrated professional competence of the highest degree and conducted himself/herself with integrity in the exercise of the profession.”
MMSU said that Obra has proven that her dedicated public service as a professor and a researcher of the university’s College of Health Sciences has significantly contributed to the advancement of her profession.
She has effectively executed social responsibility by meaningfully participating in socio-related activities, the University added.
From 2019 to 2021, Obra served as the Philippine Physical Therapy Association’s director. She was also given the Region 1 Health Research and Development Council’s Best Performing Individual in Health Research award for 2021.
She has held a number of positions at MMSU over the years, including college secretary, department chair, vice chair of the research ethics review board and currently college research coordinator.
