DLSU STUDENTS WIN IN INT’L CASE TILT
A GROUP of students from the De La Salle University won Honorable Mention Award at the 2022 Global Case Competition hosted by the Nazareth College School of Business and Leadership in New York.
The team composed of Lanz Maui Chua, Franchette Romjin Kim Miller and Derek Samuel Sy bested other groups from different universities worldwide.
They were the only delegation from the Philippines who competed against finalists from universities in the United States, Nigeria, Australia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Romania, Ukraine and Peru.
“Chua, Miller, and Sy endured two months’ of analysis and problem-solving in application of their learnings about managerial strategies, behavior, and communication,” DLSU said.
During the semi-finals, the team conducted a written case study concerning business ethics and leadership theories.
They gave an oral presentation accompanied by an assessment paper regarding McKinsey & Company’s report on the Future of the Workplace at the finals round.
The case competition focuses on issues faced by an organization, and the objective is for each student team to analyze the case and make recommendations for resolving the issues identified in the case.
It aims to provide an excellent opportunity for students to hone their analytical and problem-solving abilities and practice collaboration and teamwork.
