DLSU DEPARTAMENTO NG FILIPINO OFFERS FREE VIRTUAL CONFERENCE ON PH STUDIES
THE De La Salle University’s Departamento ng Filipino will conduct a one-day virtual conference with the theme “Kumperensiya sa Araling Pilipinas: Wika, Kultura, Media at Internet” on September 19.
The conference will feature diverse research papers of different faculty members of DLSU and other local and international universities. This is free and open to the public from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm.
The presenters will deliver educational topics on the role of Philippine Studies on language, culture, media and internet studies, business and economics, and Filipino Diaspora.
The conference will have simultaneous parallel sessions and participants can choose from Media at New Media, Wika at Pagsasalin, Identidad at Representasyon, Diskurso at Kontra-Diskurso, and Ekonomiya at Komersiyo.
The two main sessions will talk about Araling Pilipino sa Diaspora and Festschrift Para Kay Dr. Prospero Covar.
The keynote speakers for the conference will be Dr. Janet Hope Tauro-Batangas of the Ministry of Social Development in New Zealand, Dr. Joi Barrios Leblanc of University of California Berkeley, and Dr. Pia Arbo of University of Hawaii.
