ATENEO, UP, DLSU AMONG WORLD’S BEST SCHOOLS IN DELIVERING SDGs

THE ATENEO de Manila University was ranked as one of the world’s best universities for delivering the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals based on the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023.

The ranking, which measured 1,591 universities from 112 countries, placed the
Ateneo in the 201-300 bracket.

The university was highest among the 29 Philippine institutions in the list, with an overall score of 76.8-82.1 out of 100. Last year, Ateneo was in the 101-200 bracket.

THE Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities’ adherence to the SDGs. It uses carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas — research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

ADMU secured high scores in four SDGs – Peace and Justice Strong Institutions (80.9); Clean Water and Sanitation (72.5); Sustainable Cities and Communities (67.1-76); and Partnerships to achieve the Goal (45.3-53.3).

Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines and De La Salle University landed in the Top 401-600 bracket.

In the 601-800 bracket were Batangas State University, Leyte Normal University, Mariano Marcos State University, University of Santo Tomas, and Tarlac Agricultural University.

The other learning institutions included in the rankings were Central Luzon State University (801-1000); Mapua University (801-1000); Philippine Normal University (801-1000); and Saint Louis University (801-1000).

Those in the 1001+ spot were Benguet State University, Bulacan State University, Cebu Technological University, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Central Philippine University, University of Eastern Philippines, Isabela State University, Lyceum Northwestern University, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Nueva Ecijia University of Science and Technology, San Beda University, University of San Carlos, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Southern Leyte State University, St. Paul University Philippines, and Visayas State University.
