/ 29 October 2020

DE LA Salle University said two of its programs entered the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the first time.

DLSU’s Business and Economics program landed at the 601+ bracket while its Computer Science program was at the 601-800 bracket.

The Taft-based university’s Engineering, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences programs had previously appeared on the list.

Overall, DLSU falls under the 1001+ bracket in the rankings.

“Our recent recognition as a research institution of international standing is the fruit of seeds planted in 1975, when De La Salle College became De La Salle University. As we approach the 50th anniversary of that historic transition, DLSU is now poised to contribute to nation-building through both quality education and knowledge creation,” DLSU Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Raymond Tan said.

The University of the Philippines and DLSU are the only universities in the country included in the ranking.

UP is in the 401-500 bracket.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings use research output, teaching and impact as metrics to gauge the performance of institutions around the world.

For 2020, 1,526 universities and institutions were qualified to enter the global ranking.
