CHED APPROVES FULL ONLINE CLASSES AMID RISING FUEL COSTS
THE COMMISSION on Higher Education (CHED) has authorized higher education institutions (HEIs) to conduct up to 100% online classes until the end of the Academic Year 2025–2026. This measure applies to all HEIs nationwide.
The move comes in response to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, which have contributed to a sharp increase in fuel prices and prompted a national energy emergency.
“During the national energy emergency, HEIs may adopt up to 100% online delivery as necessary and as a temporary arrangement, subject to institutional capacity, student readiness, and notification to the CHED Regional Office concerned,” CHED said.
The commission emphasized that this temporary measure does not authorize the operation of undergraduate or graduate programs through Open Distance and e-Learning.
CHED also instructed HEIs to implement energy conservation protocols and ensure that students have access to psychological support and guidance during this period.
