DLSU-D PROF REPRESENTS PH IN REGIONAL DISABILITY CONFERENCE

/ 16 November 2025

A PROFESSOR from De La Salle University–Dasmariñas was one of only two Filipino research presenters at the Asia and the Pacific Disability Forum Conference 2025 in Ulsan, South Korea.
Dr. Royce Salva presented his study on the educational challenges faced by indigenous learners with disabilities, which he proposed as groundwork for a culturally responsive framework in special needs education.
Salva delivered his presentation under a session dedicated to strengthening participation and amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities across the region.
The international gathering, organized by Rehabilitation International Korea and APDF, drew policymakers, scholars, advocates, and government representatives under the theme of advancing accessibility and inclusion in the Asia-Pacific.
Among the Philippine delegates were officials from the National Council on Disability Affairs, who joined discussions on disability rights and policy development.
“Dr. Salva’s participation underscores DLSU-D’s commitment to promoting inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive education in the region,” the university said.
