TEACHERS’ GROUP HITS DEPED ‘NEGLIGENCE’
THE ALLIANCE of Concerned Teachers National Capital Region Union scored the Department of Education for its negligence in complying with the requirements for the release of DepEd employees’ Performance-based Bonus for fiscal year 2021.
THE ALLIANCE of Concerned Teachers National Capital Region Union scored the Department of Education for its negligence in complying with the requirements for the release of DepEd employees’ Performance-based Bonus for fiscal year 2021.
The ACT NCR Union learned that the DepEd Central Office has yet to submit its Report on Ranking of Delivery Units.
The department was evaluated for PBB 2021 in January 26, 2023.
“DepEd’s failure to submit the requirements for the release of our PBB 2021 is gross negligence. DepEd’s neglect of its duty that causes gross delay in the release of our due benefits is plainly unacceptable,” the group said.
“Dapat mahiya ang DepEd sa mga guro na kayod-kalabaw sa pagtuturo at non-teaching duties, at nagpupuyat pa sa paper work na ura-urada kung hingin pero laging urgent ang submission,” Ruby Bernardo, ACT NCR Union president, said.
The group said teachers expected the PBB to be released in the first quarter of the year.
Bernardo said public school teachers are getting more disillusioned with the DepEd leadership.
“We advise the DepEd to focus more on addressing the concerns of teachers and the education sector, instead of diverting or gaslighting our issues. Especially with the International Labor Day fast approaching, we urge the DepEd to do its constitutional duty as state employer to champion labor rights by granting us immediately of our benefits and supporting our call for upgrading teachers’ salaries,” she added.
