THE EASTERN Samar State University unveiled two monuments that symbolize and champion peace and peace education.

The monuments are located at ESSU’s main campus in Borongan City. These were donated by the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light and the Volunteer Individuals for Peace Monuments.

A peace covenant signing was also held to inaugurate ESSU’s commitment to peace efforts.

Local and university officials attended the ceremony on Friday, including Governor Ben Evardone and NwSSU University President Dr. Benjamin Pecayo.

“HWPL aims to achieve world peace through the heavenly culture and restore the global community with light through carrying out peace activities all across the world,” ESSU said.

The VIP monument, on the other hand, aims to signify the Commission on Higher Education’s commitment to establish partnerships for peace education.
