THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga is now accepting applications for its master’s in Governance and Innovative Leadership program.
The university said that the new program is the school’s response to the need for a “forward-looking” professionalization of public service and governance in Central Luzon and nearby provinces.
“Focused on governance of the public sector, the program provides emerging managers and leaders with knowledge, values, and skills to adapt to changes in the political and socio-economic environment, to formulate innovative solutions, and to address the public’s complex, evolving needs and expectations. MGIL is meant to reach out to the public sector professionals,” the UPDEPP said.
The program includes courses such as Public Sector Communication, Digital Governance, Innovative Leadership in Governance, and a set of elective courses which respond to 21st century governance.
It will also highlight networked governance and innovation to improve public service delivery and recognize multi-stakeholder collaboration and governance of economic zones that relate to international activities and growth area management.
“The program’s culminating activity is a capstone project that challenges leaders and managers to apply conceptual learnings from the course,” the UPDEPP said.
To qualify for the program, an applicant must be a public sector professional with at least two years of work experience and must pass the admissions exams and interview.
