MANILA OPENS JAB REGISTRATION FOR KIDS AGED 5 TO 11

/ 28 December 2021

THE CITY government of Manila has opened the registration of children aged 5 to 11 who are willing to be vaccinated against Covid19.

Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said the parents or guardians can register their kids through the city’s online vaccine registration facility.

“Bilang paghahanda sa bakunahan sa 5 to 11 years old ay kayo po ay iniimbitahan ko nang magparehistro ng inyong mga anak,” he said.

The mayor said that the vaccination of children will likely be held in hospitals.

“Anim po ang ating ospital (sa lungsod). After that pupunta sa mga communities and vaccination sites,” he added.

Last week, the Philippine Food and Drug Administration allowed the use of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid19 vaccine to kids below 11 years old.

FDA Director-General Eric Domingo said that the vaccine has an efficacy rate of 90 percent.

The FDA chief noted that the country has yet to procure the anti-virus jab for children, whose dosage is lower than those for adults.

The Philippines aims to vaccinate about 13.5 million children aged 5 to 11 against  Covid19.
