LEB CALLS FOR MORE SUPPORT FOR TYPHOON-AFFECTED BAR EXAMINEES
THE LEGAL Education Board sought help for the 2022 bar examination reviewees affected by Typhoon Odette through the sharing of review materials.
Reports said that more than 50 law schools were affected by Odette’s onslaught. The typhoon also toppled electric lines making it hard for law students to study online.
LEB teamed up with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and its Cebu chapter, along with the Philippine Association Law Schools to help the students.
PALS will offer its online bar review lectures on assigned dates for free.
The Bar Centers of the University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines also shared their learning materials.
San Beda University, meanwhile, pledged to donate pre-week reviewers.
According to LEB, Commissioner Abelardo Domondon also presented his pre-week notes on Taxation which will be sent via air freight.
Domondon noted that the materials are for all reviewees, typhoon victims or not.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Alexander Dumpa is working on the delivery of review materials with the Association of Law Students of the Philippines Mindanao and Visayas.
LEB expressed its gratitude to the schools and people who helped the students and asked for more support from legal institutions and organizations.
The first computerized and regional bar exam will be held in January 2022.
