TERRAFIRMA’S CABRERA UNDERGOES ANGIOPLASTY SURGERY
Roider Cabrera underwent angioplasty last Thursday after collapsing in a PBA 3x3 game.
Even though the surgery took place on Thursday, it was only on Saturday that Terrafirma management confirmed Cabrera’s successful surgery.
The 30-year-old Terrafirma player suffered cardiac arrest following the game against the Barangay Ginebra Kings in Leg 2 of the three-a-side tournament at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Cabrera is still unconscious, but it has been reported that there are minor movements from the basketball player such as moving his fingers and trying to open his eyes.
While the team promised to give all prize money and help Cabrera’s family with hospital bills, team manager Iby Bautista asked for prayers.
“We need more prayers for Roider. We’re still hoping for the best,” said Bautista.
With dedication and eagerness to win, Terrafirma won in the third leg last weekend and brought home PHP 30,000.
Now, they are en-route to dominate in Leg 4 and win the 100,000-peso grand prize, which, again, will help Cabrera.
Everything looks promising for Terrafirma as the squad composed of Terrence Tumalip, Dhon Reverente, Matt Salem, and Jebb Bulawan beat NorthPort, 19-9 for a 1-0 record in Pool C.
