During the routine, Yulo was unable to keep his balance and received a -0.3 deduction after landing out of bounds in his second tumbling. 

As a result, the 21-year old Filipino pride registered 14.566–with 8.266 execution and 6.6 difficulty.

If Yulo did not stumble he could’ve won the gold medal which was bagged by Nicola Bartolini of Italy, who earned a score of 14.800 (8.6 execution and 6.2 difficulty). 

While Finland’s Emil Soravuo brought home the bronze medal after finishing with a score of 14.700 to finish second behind Japan’s Kazuki Minami. 

Nevertheless, Yulo still has a chance to bag a gold medal in the vault and parallel bars finals scheduled today at 3:25 pm and 5:00pm, respectively (Philippine time).

Yulo is set to face Japanese gymnast Hidenbu Yonekura, Korean star Hakseon Yang, British gymnast Courtney Tulloch, Israeli gymnast Andrey Medvedev, Italian Thomas Grasso, Canadian William Emard, and Ukrainian Nazar Chepurnyi in the vault championships.

And go up against the likes of Japan’s Daiki Hashimoto, Switzerland’s Christian Bachmann, Brazil’s Caio Souza, China’s Hu Xuwei, and the United States’ Yul Moldauer, as well as the Chinese fighter Shi Cong in the parallel bars finals.
