TESDA OFFERS 150 SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS TO SCSC
AT LEAST 150 scholarship grants will be offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to students of the South Cotabato State College for Academic Year 2021-2022.
“The scholarships will enhance the integration of TESDA training programs into their approved degree programs,” acting SCSC president, Dr. Edward Lovell Brillantes, said.
“SCSC is the only institution in Region 12 that has included both technical-vocational and bachelor’s degree courses in their programs,” he added.
Last week, the Commission on Higher Education approved three new degree programs of SCSC following its conversion into a state university.
These are Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Agricultural Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management.
“We embedded the TESDA programs in our degree courses to improve the learning and training of students. Our students will earn national certificates or competencies from TESDA while taking their degree programs,” Brillantes said.
He explained that students must pass TESDA’s assessment as they proceed with their degree courses.
“Among the technical-vocational programs that will be opened by the SCSC are the Trainers Methodology 1, Animal Health Care and Management NC II, Agri Crop Production NC II, and Barangay Health Service NC II,” Brilliantes said.
