THE DEPARTMENT of Education on Tuesday said that School Year 2021-2022 will end on June 24, 2022.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones said that there should be a minimum of 207 days per school year.

Classes will begin on September 13.

“Ang ating end of school year is scheduled for June 24, 2022 kasi sang-ayon sa batas minimum of 207 days ang equivalent na kailangang i-undergo ng isang bata,” Briones said in a press briefing.

The DepEd chief earlier said that blended distance learning will continue to be implemented because President Rodrigo Duterte did not allow the holding of face-to-face classes.

Students who performed poorly will undergo “interventions” before classes open in September, Briones said.

“Magkaroon tayo ng tinatawag na interventions dahil meron  tayong mga bata na hindi satisfactory ang accomplishments meron namang mga bata na advance na advance naman sila so itong summer period gagamitin natin para sa mga batang maayos na maayos na at saka pang-catch up naman parang summer, ano ito ang tawag natin remedial at enrichment,” she explained.
