THE ROTARY Club of Baguio Highlands donated a newly constructed toilet block and handwashing facility to the Puguis Elementary School in La Trinidad.

Club President Constantino Villanueva Jr. said the project is part of RCBH’s support to basic education and literacy. The facility was the first of 10 similar projects that the club aims to construct in various schools in Benguet.

Benilda Daytaca, assistant schools division superintendent, thanked the club for choosing Benguet as the recipient of the facilities.

She said the facility will help encourage and motivate learners.

The project was made possible through the partnership of RCBH, District 3790 with Rotary Club of Shinyangsan, South Korea, District 3721.

Ernesto Panis, chapter president, said that the project comes with trainings for teachers.

For the succeeding projects, the organization will use structural insulated panels, a new technology in constructing comfort rooms.
