DLSU TO OFFER FOUNDATIONS OF DATA SCIENCE ONLINE COURSE
THE DE LA SALLE University’s Data Science Institute will offer the Foundations of Data Science online course in January 2021.
The course was designed for professionals and students from various STEM and ABM backgrounds who want to upskill and move to a data science career.
“The 40-hour course provides an overview of data science, job roles, and skills necessary for the roles. It covers an introductory level of data science workflow such as data acquisition, local data management, data wrangling, basic data visualization for exploratory analysis, with data ethics,” the university said.
“Each topic has hands-on exercises with varying degrees of difficulty to ensure that participants are able to absorb the concepts,” it added.
Asynchronous and synchronous sessions will be conducted each week.
The synchronous sessions will be held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. starting January 16, 2021.

The fees for the said online course are as follows: P40,000 for non-DLSU individuals, P30,000 for DLSU students, P32,000 for DLSU faculty and P32,000 for DLSU alumni.
A 10 percent discount will be given to those who will register on or before December 31, 2020.
