EAC REGISTERS FIRST WIN AFTER A BREAKTHROUGH MATCH AGAINST LPU
Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) pulled its first win in NCAA Volleyball after defeating Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in a thrilling five-set match, 26-28, 25-15, 27-25, 25-17.
LPU Lady Pirates fell short and settled to a 3-3 win-loss card while EAC Lady Generals succeeded in getting a victory after six matches.
Krizzia Reyes commandeered the team with her 24 points which were highlighted by 13 excellent digs and six excellent receptions.
While the Pirates Jewel Therese Maglimat and Johna Denise Dolorito kept pace with their 16 and 14 points, respectively.
However, EAC fell short in the first set in a deuce of 26-28 after LPU’s attack slammed into LPU’s block with no one there for coverage and followed by a service ace from Dolorito
The Lady Generals made a quick comeback and finished the second set without a sweat with 10 points advantage, 25-15, but the third set gave them a little heart attack after Dolorito, forcing another tie at 25 but recuperated with her error to claim the set, 27-25.
After an 8-3 run, EAC easily bunked off an advantage against LPU at 16-9 giving the Pirates the second technical timeout. The Lady Pirates tried to retaliate in the latter part of the match with two consecutive points until the Lady Generals ended the match with an attack from the middle, 25-17.
