The two young archers won their first-round matches in the men’s individual event of the 2021 Final Archery Olympic Qualifying Tournament at the Charlety Stadium in Paris, France, Sunday.

The 20-year-old Silos bested Hong Kong’s Chun Kit Wan, 7-3.

It was a come-from-behind win for Silos after absorbing a loss in the opening set, 25-26, but the Fil-American stalwart managed to pull off the second salvo, 27-26.

Come the third set, Wan and Silos continued their clash and even got tied at 27-all, and at three set points apiece.

However, Silos got better in the next two sets at 25-23 and 26-23 respectively, to advance to the second round.

Meanwhile, Feliciano survived against David Fredriksson of Sweden, 6-5, after winning the shootout, 10-8.

The 19-year-old Feliciano was off to a heated start, scoring a perfect 30, but hurdled an 8 in the third set amidst two X’s, to go into the fourth set level with the Swedish foe.

Fredriksson took over the fourth set, 26-24, but this was immediately prevented by Feliciano after a huge 27-22 win in the fifth and forced the one-arrow sudden death.

The Filpino standout then fired off another 10, while Fredriksson just got an 8, taking the match and moving on to the next round.

The second round is slated on Monday at 10:40 a.m. (4:40 p.m. here in Manila) in the French capital.
