MANILA TEACHERS, STUDENTS TO RECEIVE OVER P112-M IN INCENTIVES, EDUCATIONAL AID

THOUSANDS of public school teachers and students in Manila will receive more than P112 million in incentives and educational assistance under the city government’s P688.9-million financial aid package, Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso announced.

Domagoso said financial assistance will be released to various sectors throughout July, with educators and students among the major beneficiaries under the city’s funded ordinance program.

According to the Manila City Treasurer’s Office, 12,466 public school teachers will receive a P2,000 monthly incentive covering April to June, amounting to more than P69.23 million.

Meanwhile, 5,524 Grade 12 students under the Department of Education-Manila will receive P500 each for June as part of the city’s educational assistance program.

Students enrolled in the city’s state-run higher education institutions will also benefit from the assistance package. A total of 9,155 students from Universidad de Manila will receive P1,000 each for April and May, totaling P18.31 million, while 7,869 students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila will likewise receive P1,000 each for the same period, amounting to P15.74 million.

In addition, students of the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST)-Manila will receive two quarterly subsidy releases worth P6.8 million each, further expanding the city’s educational support.

The incentives and educational assistance for teachers and students form part of the P158.76 million allocated under funded city ordinances, which will be distributed from July 8 to 11.

Domagoso said the city government remains committed to investing in education while ensuring the responsible and efficient use of public funds.

He also urged beneficiaries to monitor the scheduled release dates and share the announcement so that all qualified recipients are informed of the distribution schedule.
