Thirdy-less San-En NeoPhoenix suffers second loss to Chiba Jets
Chiba Jets unleashed a 103-54 upset against San-En NeoPhoenix in their second game in the 2020-2021 Japan B.League at Hamamatsu Arena on Sunday.
The first quarter of the game was already a rough start for the NeoPhoenix as the Jets embarked on an 18-0 run in the first few minutes of the match.
As the point difference went higher as the second half approached, it already hinted what will be the outcome of their fight.
Chiba outrebounded San-en, 33-15, and offensively handed out 27 assists compared to 13 passes made by NeoPhoenix’s players.
Sebastian Saiz scored a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds while Josh Duncan collected 16 points, 7 boards, and 2 assists for the Jets, who booked their second win in the series.
Shingo Okada led the home team with 9 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.
NeoPhoenix, who dropped their basketball game in two nights, is now on the pits of the West District of the league as they continue to fill the shoes left by the absence of Thirdy Ravena and Serbians Stevan Jevolac and Nenad Miljenovic.
San-En will go against Mikawa Seahorses on Saturday at Toyohashi City General Gymnasium.
