TATS SUZARA BEING EYED TO TAKE INTERIM PRESIDENCY OF NEW PH VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION

Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ramon “Tats” Suzara is being eyed to be the new president of the new volleyball group to be formed by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

“Volleyball is already unified at last and the true winner here is Philippine volleyball,” POC president Abraham Tolentino said in a statement released to the media.

As such, a meeting was held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel superseded by Tolentino where Suzara attended and represented the name of Alliances of Philippine Volleyball, Inc.

Among the other attendees of the said meeting were Ricky Palou, Tony Boy Liao of the Premier Volleyball League, Ariel Paredes, bannering the Philippine Superliga and the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI), and Ottie Camangian of the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF).

Afterwhich, another meeting is set to happen on the 25th of January for the elections of the Board to happen at the East Ocean Seafoods Restaurant in Parañaque City.

The Board members will consist of a total of 13 board slots, 12 of which are to be allocated among the stakeholders and one independent yet still unidentified POC representative.

Each group coming from LVPI, PVF, and a group headed by Suzara will have four slots each.

Moreover, reports indicated that Suzara and Palou as the Treasurer will be the ones to lead the group together with the chairman and auditor which is yet to be determined.

The members nominated will have to assume their respective position for a year after being presented to the next FIVB Congress.

“We will report this to the FIVB and we’re going to invite them in the elections through video link,” said Tolentino.
