Just like what MJ Phillips said in their last game against BaliPure Water Defenders, the Lady Realtors were at peaked condition to play in PVL and treating every game ‘just like a championship’ brought a winning streak for the team at the expense of Perlas Spikers.

Phillips gunned down 16 points, 13 kills, and 16 digs, Jovie Prado added 10 points and eight excellent receptions, and Mika Reyes and Jonah Sabete served nine points each.

The first set started with Jem Ferrer’s service, but the first point went to Sta. Lucia after a net attack error from Perlas Spikers, and after a dump attack point from Prado, with an 8-7 lead, the first time out of the game sailed.

At midframe, a six-gap deficit score was advantageous for Lady Realtors with 16-10 lead following Sabete’s attack and an outside long attack from Jho Maraguinot, and since Perlas Spikers was bothered by Sta. Lucia’s blockers, the team got stuck at 13 points and ended the first set with a 12-point lead in favor with Sta. Lucia.

The Lady Realtors still got the momentum at the second frame with a 7-3 lead at early frame but as Perlas Spikers was battling up, a back-to-back net touch violation during a rally from Sta. Lucia gave a point ahead, 8-7 to Perlas Spikers.

As Sta. Lucia showed no remorse to let Perlas get off the situation, the offense and defense of the team strengthened and combined with unforced errors from Perlas Spikers, a 19-11 lead was in favor of Sta. Lucia, and thereafter ended the set with a seven-point lead.

At last, the third frame was where Reyes and Phillips shined as Reyes served a back-to-back ace, setting an eight-point advantage, 19-11, and after an attack from Prado and Djanel Cheng’s one-two-play, the third frame ended with a nine-point lead.

Yung straight wins namin masasabi natin na pinaghirapan ng bawat isa yun, talagang yung dedication, yung motivation, yung focus,” said Sta. Lucia head coach Eddieson Orcullo.

Pag ikaw yung nakabubble sabi nga nila wala kang ibang gagawin kung hindi maglaro pero bukod dun sa paglalaro kailangan yung mindset ng bawat isa maayos.”
