Gomez and De Luna failed to advance into the semifinals round of the competition after absorbing a 9-4 loss to Estonia.

Grabe and Magi built a strong 6-1 lead after seven racks in the race-to-nine match against the PH bets.

The Filipino pair tried closing in the score to a 7-4 deficit but was not able to replicate their stunning comeback in the previous round against the United States as they crash out of the competition.

For the semifinals round, Estonia will face Germany, while Slovakia will take on Great Britain C in the other half of the bracket.

Despite their loss, Gomez and De Luna will take home a shared $9,000 (P432,000) prize money for the quarterfinalists in the tournament.

It was the fourth title campaign of the Philippines in the tournament with the country’s pool legends Efren “Bata” Reyes and Django Bustamante ruling the competition in 2006 and 2009, while Mindanao’s Dennis Orcollo and Lee Vann Corteza emerging as the winner during the 2013 edition.

Gomez and De Luna will be competing individually in the World Pool of Masters scheduled on May 22.
