RK ILAGAN ASPIRES PLAYING WITH GINEBRA’S CAGUIOA, AFTER JOINING PBA ROOKIE DRAFT
San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) guard RK Ilagan revealed that PBA Ginebra took a big part in what he is today and looking forward to playing with Mark Caguioa, after his decision to join the PBA Rookie Draft and forego his final year in the NCAA.
“Lumaki ako, Ginebra talaga ang sinusuportahan ko, makalaro ko lang si Kuya Mark, masayang-masaya na po ako,” Ilagan shared.
Most often than not, every basketball player, be it in UAAP or NCAA, has one thing in common—being part of the fandom of the Never Say Die squad. Which is the same case for the floor guard Ilagan.
“…sila po ni kuya Jayjay yung dahilan bakit ko lalo nagustuhan yung basketball, kung paano po nila napapasaya yung crowd,” he propounded.
Ilagan is one of the most preeminent players of the Golden Stags and was also considered as one of the most prolific scorers in the collegiate scene carrying under his belt as one of the best guards during his four-year career in NCAA.
He averaged 15.8 points on 32-percent shooting from threes, to go with 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 29.2 minutes of court time last NCAA Season 95.
“RK has a good potential, especially because of his range…hopefully, RK can translate his game in the pros, and he is someone who deserves to get a break,” coach Macaraya shared with The Manila Times.
Nonetheless, whatever team Ilagan may land on, having the opportunity of being in the same court as other PBA players will always be a great honor.
“Sobrang laking karangalan sa akin na makapasok sa PBA at masarap sa feeling na alam ko na nakasuporta silang lahat sa akin,” Ilagan concluded.
