It was a flat start for the crew after playing without Asian import Thirdy Ravena and a few other reinforcements.

San-En was outscored by Chiba as early as the first quarter, 20-8, which proved to be a sign of things to come for the rest of the match.

Takanobu Nishikawa was the lone bright spot for the NeoPhoenix as he led the charge with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the defeat.

Tatsuya Suzuki and American import Andre Murray both had 10 in the losing effort for the home team.

Ravena is still waiting for his Japanese visa approval before flying to Japan and joining the team.

Moreover, Serbian imports Stevan Jelovac and Nenad Miljenovic together with head coach Branislav Vicentic just arrived on Saturday which happened to be the same day as the first match, however, all will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Without them, the Jets take the lead with Josh Duncan leading the way with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Gavin Edwards providing support with his 19 points and 7 boards.

Chiba and San-En will lock horns anew on Sunday.
