PHILIPPINE SPORTSWRITERS ASSOCIATION ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT

Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) has elected a new set of officers.

Tempo sports editor Rey Virgilio Lachica, 54, was unanimously voted as president of the country’s oldest media organization during its virtual general assembly.

He succeeds Tito Talao of the Manila Bulletin who served as president for the past two years.

The appointed secretary was Jasmine Payo of Rappler while long-time People’s Journal sports editor Joe Antonio was named treasurer. 

Other officers are Gerry Ramos of SPIN.ph as the assistant treasurer and the Philippine Star’s Abac Cordero as an auditor.

Under Talao, the PSA Board whose members include Jimmy Cantor from, Dodo Catacutan from SPIN.ph, Lorenzo Lomibao Jr. from Business Mirror, Riera Mallari from Manila Standard, Ed Andaya from People’s Tonight, Mae Villena from PM, Ramil Cruz from Abante Tonite, Emil Noguera from Manila Times, Julius Manicad from Daily Tribune, and Ferdz delos Santos from Abante.
