PH WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAMS ARRIVE IN THAILAND AHEAD OF ASIAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Women’s volleyball national teams, playing under the colors of Team Rebisco and Team Choco Mucho, arrived in Thailand early Wednesday morning ahead of their 21st Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship campaign.

In a social media post, the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) shared a photo of them arriving in the airport of Thailand. 

Teams Rebisco and Choco Mucho will play against five other teams in the tourney, with the top emerging team to qualify in the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship which is slated from December 15-19 in Turkey.

This will be the first time the Philippines will compete in an international tournament under the governance of the PNVF.

Players, coaches, and staff were swabbed before leaving Manila and will go through another round of swab tests on the day of their competition on Thursday and another swab test will be done every three days.

Team Choco Mucho, led by Iris Tolenado, is bracketed in Pool A which has Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC and Kazakhstan’s Zhetyssu. 

Team Rebisco, who is skippered by Aby Maraño, is grouped in Pool B that will compete against  Thailand’s Supreme Chonburi, Kazakhstan’s Altay, and Iran’s Saipa.

Team Choco Mucho will debut on Friday against Nakhon Ratchasima at 1:30 p.m. (Manila time), while Rebisco will take on Altay in Pool B action at 7 p.m. (Manila time).

All matches will be conducted at Terminal 21 competition hall.
