PH TEAMS FALL SHORT TO THAI SQUADS; TO BATTLE AGAINST EACH OTHER IN CLASSIFICATION ROUND

Rebisco and Choco Mucho’s journey in AVC 2021 has ended after falling short in their games yesterday against Thai’s Nakhon Ratchasima and Supreme Chonburi, respectively.

/ 5 October 2021

Rebisco suffered in a three straight loss against the Thai powerhouse Nakhon, 11-25, 19-25, 18-25.

“We’re really trying to apply what we’ve learned from coach Jorge. This is a learning experience for us and for sure, we can take all the lessons from here moving forward.,” Rebisco’s Faith Nisperos said.

And despite the winless set, coach Edson Souza de Brito said that even if they were not able to catch up during the first set, the good thing is that they were able to be at par with the opponents in the last frames of the game.

“This is really important…inside the match, you are always going for improvement.”

On the other hand, the Choco Mucho team also went through the same situation as the Rebisco and fell short against the Thai squad Supreme Chonburi Ratchasima with a score of 13-25, 22-25, 21-25.

However, in this match the Thais were better challenged as in the second and third frame as Malika Kanthong registered 6 points in just two sets of play and made up for the 4 points (8-12) deficit during the second set, scoring 10 points alone in that set.

With Nakhon and Supreme securing the spot in the next round the Philippines’ AVC journey will continue in the classification round as Rebisco and Choco Mucho will play against each other.
