The official page of the FIFA Women’s World Cup also shared the same development in a Facebook post.

“The Philippines climb up 10 spots,” said in the Facebook post.

This marked the highest jump of world countries for this year as the Philippines ranked in the 54th place, and is also the highest-ranking achieved by the Philippine women’s team in history; it crushed their past highest-ranking placed at 64th in 2021.

All of it was thanks to the achievement of Maldita as they dominated the AFC Women’s Asian Cup where they finished in the top four and earned a ticket to compete in the Fifa Women’s World Cup 2023 to be held in Australia and New Zealand.

The PWNT gained 53.26 points from the competition, joining the Dominican Republic, which went from four places higher to 109, and China, which gained three spots higher to 16 after winning the Asian Cup.

Meanwhile, the men’s team ranked at 129th place and recorded an average of 159th ranking.
