PBA Chairman Ricky Vargas relayed his excitement of welcoming the basketball fans back to the court but only for those who are fully vaccinated as the league is planning to be back in their normal scheme.

“Excited kami sa second conference, ‘no. It’s going to be a conference with imports, and we’re looking forward to being allowed to get some of our fans inside, and watch the games,” Vargas said yesterday at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum.

Following the success of the previous two conferences, which were hosted in “bubbles” in Pampanga, the league is now seeking approval from the government to conduct its games in Metro Manila which is now under Alert Level 2.

“‘Yan ang pangarap namin, because it’s been two years that we did not have our fans there, and we’re looking forward that they be part of the games this time,” he added.

PBA is planning to open its Governors Cup on November 28 and hopes to be allowed to play inside the venues with fans being in the court again.

While PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial affirmed that not only the fans should be fully vaccinated but as well as all the PBA players.

So ido-double check ko ‘yun.”
