PBA BOARD PLANS TO DISCUSS SEASON 46 IN A SPECIAL MEETING

Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Board decided to set a special meeting to happen today to tackle the fate of the league’s Season 46.

/ 19 April 2021

The special meeting is said to converse about the PBA’s new opening date, season format, and financial matters.

Looking at its initially proposed plans, the PBA has to estimate doubling its budget on conducting Season 46 as their previous Philippine Cup bubble in Clark, Pampanga lasted for two months, which cost between P65 to P70 million.

Accordingly, the upcoming season is about to cover a 4-month stretch that could cost between 130-140 million following the last year’s expenditure.

Pag-uusapan ang financial [aspect] ng PBA at kung papaano na itong season at kung ano ang plano dito,” said Chairman Ricky Vargas and Commissioner Willie Marcial.

Pag-uusapan lahat ng puwedeng ilatag at kung paano,” he added.

The meeting will be held physically by some of the Board of Governors while some will take their part by attending through Zoom.

Also, the league is beefing up to hold two conferences for this season for a combined period of 10 months in a closed-circuit setup but, in a home-gym-home set up rather than having another expensive bubble.
