ONIC PH’S INSTAGRAM SHUTDOWNS AFTER MASS REPORTING FOLLOWING M3 WIN
Onic PH confirmed that their IG account was taken down because of mass reporting shortly after its victory against the Indonesian team, RRQ Hoshi in the playoffs stage of the M3 World Championship.
The team shared the news through their Facebook page and denounced such acts within the esports community.
In a statement released on social media on December 16, Onic said, “We […] do not condone this kind of digital attacks aimed at our social media channels. We urge the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community to support us in this plight.”
A similar event occurred with Blacklist International’s Instagram account during their match against RRQ Hoshi during the Mobile Legends Professional League Invitational (MPLI) 2021.
Onic stated that it has already contacted Instagram to resolve the issue.
In the meantime, Sonic advised its followers to be vigilant against the sites purporting to be Onic PH that is currently spreading on Instagram.
“We’re encouraging everyone to refrain from mass reporting an organization/person so as we could maintain a healthy environment for the esports community,” said the Philippine team of the regional esports organization.
It added: “Pa-follow narin kami sa IG pag bumalik na ty lods.”
Onic Indonesia also issued a social media message of solidarity.
