/ 24 October 2026

THE MALABON City government is strengthening teacher development and international academic collaboration to improve the quality of education and enhance learning outcomes for students.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval highlighted the initiative in a social media post following her participation in the Grade 9 Teachers’ Collaborative Learning Session 2026, organized by Tinajeros National High School in partnership with the University of Fukui in Japan.

The activity brought together Filipino and Japanese educators to exchange knowledge, share teaching strategies, and explore innovative approaches that prioritize students’ individual needs and learning progress.

Sandoval also expressed her gratitude to Senior Assistant Professor Hanbara Sen Sai and Assistant Professor William Tiipto of the University of Fukui for participating in the initiative and sharing their expertise with local educators.

The mayor emphasized the importance of equipping teachers with new knowledge, skills, and opportunities for professional growth, noting that well-trained and continuously learning educators play a vital role in shaping the future of young Malabueños.

She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to supporting teachers through initiatives that promote professional development, strengthen international partnerships, and encourage the adoption of effective teaching practices.

The collaborative learning session forms part of the city government’s continuing efforts to improve education and advance student-centered learning under its ‘Malabon Ahon’ advocacy.
